I was extremely excited to be picked for the @chickadvisor – Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair campaign. I got the email that I was chosen, then a few days later the package with the products arrived in my mailbox. I opened the box and inside was a Prep Cleanser ( 141g) and Retinol oil (30 ml).
The Prep cleanser is oil free, non comedogenic, soap free and paraben free. Build up dirt, dry skin. and oil can make the skin look dull. The Prep cleanser has a thick creamy consistency, with microexfoliants and glycolic acid, which gently exfoliates the skin without stripping therefore revealing skin that is visibly smooth, soft and radiant. The cleanser is gentle enough that it can be used daily, without drying the skin. During the first few days, I only used the Prep cleanser once a day, instead of twice, I wanted to get my skin used to using this product. From the first night I used the cleanser, my skin felt and looked less dull. I did not get any redness, but a few pimples did come up on my forehead and chin. Now I can use the cleanser twice a day.
After cleansing I followed up with the Retinol Oil. I put 4-5 drops of oil in my palm and with my fingertips I gently massaged the oil in circular motion on my face. The oil is light weight and fast absorbing. This oil can be used morning and evening / again I started slowly – as my skin has reacted to retinol in the past – I decided to go slow and use it once a day in my evening regime. I did not experience any redness, tingling or irritation. I immediately saw that my skin was less dull and more vibrant looking due to the exfoliation of both the Prep cream and the retinol oil. After using this product for 10 days I was told that my skin glowed by a few people. I also noticed that my fine lines were less visible and some of my sun spots seemed a bit lighter. I used less of my moisturizer as well – thats a bonus. Now, I’m happy to say I can use the oil twice a day and am looking forward to seeing what my skin will look like once I finish the bottle.
When using Retinol products, your skin can become more sensitive so make sure you are using an excellent sunscreen both in summer and winter, to protect our skin from sunburn.
