Now that it’s the end of October I will be changing my skin care regime as the weather is getting chillier and my skin will start to get dryer. It is time to update my skin care for winter in Canada, with a few essential products that I love.
I have been using Micellar water to cleanse my skin since March. I was sceptical about this product but I’ve been won over. Micellar water removes makeup and cleanses the skin without the need to rinse. I like the way this product draws out the impurities, dirt grime and makeup from my skin. I put some on a cotton pad and sweep over my skin until all the makeup is removed. My skin doesn’t feel dry and even removes my eye makeup.
After cleansing my skin I start with the Clarins double serum. The bottle design is quite unique which features a pump system that adjusts how much to apply depending on the amount the skin needs. When the weather was warmer I used the small drop, now I will start using the large drop, as my skin is getting dryer and needs more hydration. After I pump the desired amount I mix the two serums together in the palm of my hand and then gently pat the product into my skin and neck. I then follow-up with Clarins Hydra-Essentiel intensive moisture quenching bi-phase serum. Water is essential to the skin and everything we do in our daily lives can cause our skin to dehydrate. The bi-phase serum acts as a skin protector and gives a barrier to the skin in order to provide optimal hydration. I use the serum in conjunction with the hydra-essential silky cream – normal to dry skin formula. My skin feels immediately hydrated. I love how very little of both products is needed to cover the entire face, my skin feels so silky and smooth, never greasy. Don’t forget to bring the product all the way down the neck to the decollete. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, to prevent dehydrated skin.
I then apply my eye cream. I just got a sample of the new Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Concentrate Matrix. The applicator can be used as a massage wand so that you don’t have to apply with your fingers, such a great feature. You don’t need to use a lot of this product, a little goes along way. I have been using this for about 2 weeks and find that my dark circles and puffiness have gone down. My skin feels very soft and silky after I use this product. Still too early to see how it will work on my fine lines.
However, when the weather gets really cold and I start to develop dry patches I will add the Clarins facial oil to my regime. I put a few drops of oil into the palm of my hand then gently pat into my skin. I feel the difference immediately, my skin always feels so dewy, never greasy, just soaks into my skin. I will use this instead of the bi-phase serum until my skin returns to normal, then I go back to the bi-phase serum.
Just recently I have added Clarins Tonic body treatment Oil. I use this after my shower usually on my legs and arms which get very dry come the cold weather.
I will update my beauty products as the winter progresses. I just bought a new night cream Lavender Age Corrective Night Concentrate by Eminence Organic Skin Care. I will write a review on this product once I start using it.
